I'm a little bit country; I'm a little bit rock'n roll.....

Okay, so country and rock'n roll don't have anything to do with this post other than to convey the idea that I love modern, but I am also a huge fan of Hollywood Regency and crossing ups design styles.  I love the shape of these chairs and I know they can cross over depending upon the fabric you use to cover them.  They are made by Henredon and in near-perfect condition and solid.  You would only need fabric to get the look you want or the fabric on them could certainly hold up for a long time. I have to believe designers all over RVA are frantically looking for my phone number right about now...... Price for the pair $450.

Today's find - Frederick Cooper Lamps

Very unusual pair of huge ceramic Frederick Cooper signed lamps with raised lion's crest relief ($400 pair).  Call or email if interested - vervehomefurnishings@gmail.com.

Mad Men Executive Collection?

This week, I have a few items that I'll call part of my "executive Mad Men collection".  I have a pair of leather cases-- the black one is complete with the initials JLT and a UMWA (United Mine Workers of America) sticker that states "We give our sweat, not our blood."  The camel colored one is plain, but made by the same company ($89 each).  The globe is a vintage bar made by the Italian company Zoffoli($95) and the leather chair if from Virginia Power (if you are like me, I still call it Virginia Power) ($150).  Call or email me if you are interested in these items.    vervehomefurnishings@gmail.com.

Antiques in Manchester Hangover

While the weather continued to put the kibosh on the attendance to our little market, we were out in full force under the covered area at 205 Hull Street.  Despite the dismal weather and low turnout, our spirits were high with goodies from Plant Zero Cafe (probably the best breakfast quesadilla in town) and what I will call intracommerce among dealers.  Many thanks to those of you that ventured out into the crappy day.  It was good to see familiar faces and we appreciate the support.  Needless to say, I still have the 4 Steecase chairs pictured and the pair of Holly wood Regency end tables.  Call 804-370-3765 if you are interested in any items pictured.  @Bart, thanks for the tips on blogging.  I still cannot label the above box that captures email addresses for following me on email.  Ugh.

Antiques in Manchester is rolling!

Okay, we are on for participating in Antiques in Manchester this Saturday, September 24th from 9-4.  Go to http://www.aimrva.com/ for details.  I will say that the location is great with a covered venue (no tents to take flight, not to mention protection from falling space satellites) and with Plant Zero Cafe across the street, edible food and clean facilities are just a luxury every flea-goer relishes.  That said, given the dismal weather forecast, I know its a tough sell, but keep in mind we've got new stuff you haven't seen before and I plan to have a table of $5 items that really need a good home!

This is my first blog and first posting! Where are the cameras?

Gearing up for this coming Saturday's Antiques in Manchester.  This week I will feature a $5 table of items that need a good home.  In addition, I will have some great steelcase chairs and other cool furniture.  If you don't have a way of getting something home--we deliver!  Stay tuned for some photos of this weeks items.
