Tricks, treats and more treats.....

Chalkware bride and her plaster skull groom.  Groovy all year round.

My "Breast  Cancer's a Witch" hat, inspirationally titled "I see dead people".  I know, what was I thinking?  Just got caught up in the Halloween moment.  No one seemed to notice...

I have my traditional side with a twist of Hollywood glamour, you know.  I am not all mod all the time.

Not sure who this is, but if I were a lesbian, I would totally be attracted.  1960's model in a very large frame ($239)
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!  How about a game of trick or treat? What a weekend.  Had to drive to Akron to pick up my Roche Bobois dining room table and chairs.  Its so fabulous.  While I don't recommend buying something big sight unseen and then agreeing to drive 8 hours each way to pick it up, in this case, the stars lined up.  This is the dining room set to end all sets.  Sorry, but its not for sale.  That was the trick.  HA.  Now for the treat--I did pick up two fabulous night stand/end tables, a darling boudoir chair and a really cool 1960s framed photograph of a model, not to mention a bunch of cool smalls.  If you would like a Fall wreath, let me know as soon as possible.  Christmas is going to hit the floor this week, but hey we are behind the rest of the pack in this department.  Absolutely every retailer has had Christmas out for a month! Off to the warehouse....

Warehouse Open Saturday from 10-6

The warehouse will be open tomorrow from 10-6.  We are located at 4903 W. Leigh Street Richmond, 23230.  We are 3 blocks directly behind the Chipotle restaurant near the Willow Lawn shopping center.  If you are looking for a custom holiday wreath, now is the time to order.  I am in full wreath making mode for Fall, Christmas or even something that can work throughout the holidays.  If you have something already that needs a little "doctoring", I can do that too.  You would be surprised at my resurrection ability---probably more Pet Sematary than anything else! Ha.  Anyway, I am excited...probably just the chardonnay, or maybe its the Overman lounge chair I just picked up today.  Its clean and in great condition.  Come and a get it.  Call me if you get lost or need an appt for another day.  804.370.3765.

Oh and don't forget our friends down on Hull Street.  I am going to hit it early!

Modern Trifecta this Weekend!

Not only will Antiques in Manchester (AIM)and VERVE home furnishings Warehouse be open this weekend, but we also have a newcomer for you to check out.  Studio 11 is a collaboration of Killer Junk and Ikonik.  They are opening in Studio 11 just across the street from Antiques in Manchester at 205 Hull Street.  They will have their booth at AIM, but will also have the really good stuff in the new space.  Check Killer Junk's blog for more details.

Save a little money to head west back to VERVE's warehouse at 4903 W. Leigh Street.  We are located 3 blocks directly behind the Chipotle restaurant near Willow Lawn.  We will be open from 10-6.  New inventory of course, and wreath making is in full swing.  Come by and order a fall or holiday wreath early.  I will post more pics soon, but here is a little something to whet your whistle--a beautiful teak credenza from the 60s from Hugo Troeds for Bra Bohag "Bjarnum".  Not sure I phrased all of that correctly, but you can google it.  Its in really great shape with great lines.  $850 and we will deliver it locally.

Vintage Coats, Lee Reynolds and Jessica Lange

I spent yesterday and most of this morning turning over the inventory at the Shops@5807.  Lots of great vintage coats to choose from, so hit it early.  Also scored a huge, cool Lee Reynolds painting that I'll call "eclipse", but not sure of the title.  The price is $195.  Call or email if interested.  On another note, is anyone watching American Horror Story on FX?  Really bizarre....and I am loving the gratuitous Dylan McDermott nudity.  Not too mention how cool it is to see Jessica Lange on the boobtube.  God, who says boobtube anymore.......

Great day at Antiques in Manchester!

Wow, what a beautiful day it was for a market.  I decided to set up at the last minute, but I am so glad I did.  I sold 4 chairs and a sofa, plus some assorted knicknacks.  I was delighted to go home with a lighter load!  Many thanks to those of you who ventured downtown.  While attendance is still low, we believe the location has so many great characteristics and we just need to get people to try it just once.  I have included photos of my set-up and the other vendors, so you can see what you missed.  If see something you like, I know how to get in touch the vendor, so don't hesitate to ask.  The sofa and orange chairs in my booth are sold! Happy Hunting.   Stay tuned for photos of the newest inventory just added to the Shops@5807 location.  Vintage coats have arrived!

I'm baaackk!

Sorry for the lapse in posts, but I have not figured out how to enable mobile post.  Maybe if I light long enough, I can do it.  Anyway, I have been in the land of wineauxs, Napa and Sonoma Valley.  What a great week of gourmet food, fabulous wine and well, wineauxs!  Made new friends, that fortunately do not live in Richmond or my sobriety level would go even lower!  I did manage to spend some time in San Francisco and did a fabulous tour of Chinatown with none other than Martin Yan of Yan Can Cook fame.  He is truly Chinatown's mayor as best as I can tell.  Ever the hunter, I spotted a card shop in Chinatown with a bunch of vintage ephemera that they used to sell in the shop back in the 60s and 70s! Needless to say, I brought a fairly good-sized box (much to my husband's dismay) full of this stuff.  Look for it at the Shops@5807 in the coming days.  For now, I need to catch up on my laundry! Talk to you soon.
